「No Line On The Horizon/U2」を聴いた

　2004年に全世界で900万枚以上売れまくった前作「How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb」。あれから4年以上たった2009年のこの冬にReleaseされたU2の12th Album「No Line On The Horizon」(2009/Album)について。
　このAlbum、そもそもはProduced by Rick Rubin.だったのがうまく機能せず、結局はいつものProduced by Brian
Eno,Danny Lanois and Steve Lillywhite.になったらしい。そのためか、よくも悪くも、あ、U2!だとわかる音。ともかくひっかかった曲は、M-01「No Line On The Horizon」(AメロとBメロとサビの転調がいい)、M-02「Magnificent」(AdamとLarryの重めのRhythm隊があっての佳曲)、M-03「Moment of Surrender」(これ野外の夕陽の中でじっくり聴いたら、泣くだろうな)、M-05「I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight」(U2らしい大陸的で放牧的で荒涼としてて、優しい曲。このAlbumで一番好きかも)、M-06「Get On Your Boots」(GrammyとかBrit Awardでこの曲がPlayされてたけど、実はAlbumよりLive映えしてた)、M-10「Breathe」(硬質なRockとEdgeのArpeggioがあれば、もう言うことない)。
　というわけで、4年ぶりに堪能させていただいたU2。今作でも、彼らの作るMelody Lineの素晴らしさと演奏力の高さはまったく衰えていない。ほんといろんなところを揺さぶられる。今年2009年上半期の中でもFavorite Albumの1枚に。
