「Radiohead:The Best Of/Radiohead」を聴いた

　2008年夏にReleaseされたRadiohead初のBest Album「Radiohead:The Best Of」(2008/Album)。ずーっとダラダラ聴いてきたんだけど、やっとこさ、Reviewを書いてみる。
　前も書いたことがあるけど、大昔の2000年の頃、あのAlbum「Kid A」を聴いて、あまりの微熱系な音作りと暗さに、正直グッと来なかったRadiohead。なんとなく敷居の高さを感じていた。で、今回初めて彼らのBest盤をダラダラ聴いてきて、Radioheadの音楽は本当に繊細で、完成が鋭くて、でも安定感があって、静寂と狂気の絶妙なBalanceで成り立っていることを感じた。
　とりあえず、好きな曲を。まずはCD 1から。M-01「Just」(静寂と混沌がいい)、M-02「Paranoid Android」(Melodyの転調と差し込まれる歪んだGuitarがいい)、M-04「Creep」(初めてRadioheadを知った曲。繊細)、M-05「No Surprises」(美しいMelody)、M-06「High and Dry」。(美しくて繊細なMelodyとThom YorkeのVocal。このBest盤で一番気に入った曲)、M-09「Lucky」(この叙情性ってはまる)、M-10「Fake Plastic Trees」(このアコギを聴きながら、深酒したくなる)、M-13「The Bends」(この曲もあまりに有名。枯れながら熱いRock Tune)、M-15「Street Spirit(Fade Out)」(凍えるような、震えるような、きめ細かい曲)、M-16「Everything in Its Right Place」(これまた繊細なElectro Music)。
　続いて、CD 2へ。M-01「Airbag」(底なしな深遠な世界に引きずり込まれるような曲)、M-04「Let Down」(これまたキラキラした綺麗なMelody)、M-05「Planet Telex」(Noiseの中の明るさがいい)、M-10「You」(Hardな音、Thom Yorkeの絶叫、完成度高いRock Tune)、M-12「How to Disappear Completely」(Acousticな静寂さがいい)。
　ほんといい意味でのGuide Book的なBest盤。いまさらながら、入門させていただいたRadioheadでした。
