「Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars/David Bowie」(WOWOW)を観た

　日ごろの愛視聴番組の1つ、WOWOWの洋楽ライブ伝説。で、今回観たのはDAVID BOWIEの「DAVID BOWIE ZIGGY STARDUST 1973/デヴィッド･ボウイ ジギー･スターダスト 1973」を。
　これ、David Bowieと彼のBand "The Spiders from Mars"が、1973.7.3、Londonのthe Hammersmith Odeonで行われたLiveの模様を収めた映画「Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars」の映像。1972年のReleaseされた5th Album「The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars」でのTourの最終公演となっている。GuitarにはあのMick Ronsonがいるし、山本寛斎の衣装だし、涙を流してる観客はいるし、この映像はほんと凄い。
　で、曲のほうも、知ってる曲ばかり。Title Tuneの「Ziggy Stardust」、「Oh! You Pretty Things」、「Changes」(これはいつ聴いても名曲だ!)、「Space Oddity」、「Time」、「Suffragette City」などに加え、The Rolling Stonesの「Let's Spend The Night Together」(貴重な映像だ)やVelvet Undergroundの「White Light/White Heat」も演ってる。まさに伝説の一夜なLiveだ。
　それにしてもひさびさに観たBowieの雄姿。このGlam Rock期のBowieって、今観てもけばけばしくて、きらびやかで、近未来的で、ともかく派手。こんな中世的なFashionがここまで流行ったことが、今では不思議だけど、そんな時代がほんとうにあったんだ。歴史考証もたまにはあり。
