「The HUMAN RIGHTS Concerts 1986-1998」を観た

　世界的人権擁護団体アムネスティ･インターナショナル主催の音楽イベント"The HUMAN RIGHTS Concerts"。その映像「The HUMAN RIGHTS Concerts 1986-1998」(2013/DVD)が「アムネスティ･インターナショナル ヒューマン･ライツ･コンサート」としてWOWOWで公開された。しっかりとCHECKした。
　これ、Bruce Springsteen、U2、The Police、Jimmy Page & Robert Plantらが参加した音楽イベント。1986年6月アメリカ･ニュージャージー州、1988年10月のアルゼンチン･ブエノスアイレス、そして1998年12月のフランス･パリでの3公演が3時間に凝縮されて放送された。 ともかくひっかかった映像について書いてみる。
　まずは1986年のアメリカ公演。懐かしのBryan AdamsによるM-02「Run To You」とM-03「It's Only Love」とM-04「Summer of '69」、U2のHit Tune M-07の「Pride(In the Name of)」とアイルランド紛争を描いたM-09「Sunday Bloody Sunday」、The PoliceのM-10「Roxanne」とM-11「Message in a Bottle」と大Hit Tune M-12「Every Breath You Take」にBono(U2)も歌ったM-13「Invisible Sun」。そして全出演者、アムネスティが解放した18人の囚人、Yoko Ono、Lou Reedがステージに上がって歌ったBob DylanのカバーM-14「I Shall Be Released」。
　続いて、1988年のアルゼンチン公演。懐かしのPeter GabrielによるM-01「Sledgehammer」、StingとBruce Springsteenが1本のマイクに向かって歌うM-04「Every Breath You Take」、亡くなったClarence Clemonsの雄姿が泣けるBruce Springsteen and the E Street BandのM-05「Born in the USA」、Bruce SpringsteenとStingが歌うM-07「The River」、そして、Bruce Springsteen、Sting、Peter Gabriel、Tracy Chapman、Youssou N'Dourの5人が2本のマイクで歌うシーンが感動的なM-09「Chimes of Freedom」。
　そして最後は1998年のフランス公演。Youssou N'Dourのビート感が最高なM-02「Signal to Noise」、昔大好きだったTracy ChapmanのM-04「Fast Car」、Bruce SpringsteenのM-05「No Surrender」とBluceなアレンジのM-06「Born in the USA」とM-07「Working on the Highway」、PageとPlantなんてもうありえそうもない2人によるM-10「Rock and Roll」、出演者が揃って歌うBob MarleyのカバーでM-11「Get Up,Stand Up」。
　政治に関心が高いRock Artist達が集まった貴重なイベント"The HUMAN RIGHTS Concerts"。いい映像ばかりだった。
