「MTV VIDEO SELECTS "NOTHING COMPARES 2 U" RIP PRINCE(1958-2016)」(MTV)を観た

　先月の2016/4/21に逝去したPrince。大好きなArtistだったのでその悲報はショックだったし、悲しかった。そのPrinceを追悼したMTVの特別番組「MTV VIDEO SELECTS "NOTHING COMPARES 2 U" RIP PRINCE(1958-2016)」を5時間じっくりと観た。
　この追悼番組、Princeが作り上げてきた膨大なMusic VideoとMTVのイベントのLive Performance映像が5時間にわたって放送されたもの。初期のファルセットを駆使したVocal、自身の曲の全プロデュースと全楽器のパフォーマンス、変わらないキレキレのDanceなどなど、あらためてPrinceの残してきた偉業が伝わってくる。
　特にひっかかったのは、「Little Red Corvetto」、インプロゼーション的なパフォーマンスがたまらない「I Would Die 4 U」、この曲が好きだったことを思い出した「Mountain」、PrinceのGuitarの高揚感が最高な「I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man」、「Alphabet St.」、「Thieves In The Temple」、「Diamonds and Pearls」、ドFunkな「My Name Is Prince」、Sinead O'Connorに提供した時から大好きな1曲「Nothing Compares 2 U」、ゆったりとしたMelody Lineの「The Most Beautiful Girl In The World」、キラキラなゴージャスさの「Gold」、ねっとりしたRhythmがたまらない「The Greatest Romance Ever Sold」、タメの効いた「Call My Name」、Melodyとサビがツボの「Cinamon Girl」、Guitarリフがいい「Fury」、ペンギンが踊りまくるPVがいい感じの「The Song Of The Heart」、Dancer達のエロティックなStageが凄い「Get Off [1991 MTV Video Music Awards]」あたり。
　あらためて、この喪失感は言葉にできない。R.I.P.Prince...。
