「Runt/Todd Rundgren」を聴いた

　以前飲んだ時、さりげなく伝道いただいたTodd Rundgrenの「Runt. The Ballad of Todd Rundgren」。早速このCDを買いに行ったら、「Runt」と「Runt. The Ballad of Todd Rundgren」が2枚組があったので、お得なこっちを購入。その後ずっと聴いてたTodd Rundgrenの「Runt」(1970/Album)について。
　Todd Rundgrenは名前はもちろん知っていたし、美しいMelodyを生みだすMelody Makerで、XTCなど数々の有名なBandのProduceをやってきた人というイメージだったけど、まともに聴いたのは今回が初めて。多作な人だけど、この1970年にRelease「Runt」がTodd Rundgrenの1st Albumだった。ともかくひっかかった曲について。
・M-01「Broke Down And Busted」：タメの効いたMelody Lineがいい。
・M-02「Believe In Me」：Harpっぽい弦楽器とFluteっぽい管楽器も入った優しいBallad。
・M-03「We Gotta Get You A Woman」：MajorなPop Tune。
・M-04「Who's That Man?」：疾走感あるRock Number。
・M-05「Once Burned」：美しくて切ない。
・M-06「Devil's Bite」：幻想的な弦楽器の音からゴリっとしたRock Tune。このAlbumでのMy Favorite Songかもしれない。
・M-07「I'm In The Clique」：音の厚さがいい。
・M-08「There Are No Words」：Title通りのInterlude。
・M-09「Baby Let's Swing/The Last Thing You Said/Don't Tie My Hands」：Popだし、Crazyだし。
・M-10「Birthday Carol」：なんかJazzのSessionを聴いているよう。
　続いて収録された「Runt-Alternate versdion」から。
・M-11「Broke Down And Busted [Intro:There Are No Words]」：確かに2つの曲が融合している。
・M-12「Believe In Me [alternate mix]」：低音が原曲より効果的に効いてる気がする。
・M-13「We Gotta Get You A Woman [alternate mix]」：こっちのほうが音がブ厚い。
・M-14「Hope I'm Around [early version]」：原曲は「Runt. The Ballad of Todd Rundgren」に収録されてる。
・M-15「Devil's Bite [alternate mix]」：さらに大袈裟感とガシャガシャ感が増している。
・M-16「Baby Let's Swing [full length song]」：この曲だけだとやたら優しいPop Song。
・M-17「Say No More」：幻想的なBallad。
・M-18「Birthday Carol [alternate mix]」：混沌から美メロへ。

　さ、「Runt. The Ballad of Todd Rundgren」(1971)もしっかり聴き込もう。
