「Two Classic Albums Under Review:Use Your Illusion 1 And 2/Guns N' Roses」を観た

　Guns N' Rosesが1991年に2枚同時にReleaseしたAlbum「Use Your Illusion I」と「Use Your Illusion II」。このAlbumについて迫ったDumentary番組「Two Classic Albums Under Review:Use Your Illusion 1 And 2」(2007/DVD)がMUSIC AIRで「ガンズ･アンド･ローゼズ:名盤『ユーズ･ユア･イリュージョンI&II』制作秘話」として放送された。
　これ、関係者のインタビュー含め、ガンズのAlbum"Use Your Illusion 1 And 2"に迫るDocumentary番組。ざっと振り返ると、Motley CrueやPoisonなどHeavy Metalという時流の中で登場したガンズ、LAでのクラブシーン、ルックスの良さ、"It's So Easy"、"Paradise City"、名盤であるDebut Album"Appetite for Destruction"、The Cultの前座、"Welcome To The Jungle"、DrumerのSteven Adlerの脱退、ヘロイン依存だったSlash、"You Could Be Mine"、Nirvanaの台頭、"Coma"、ガンズらしさを失っていない"Civil War"、過去との決別の"Yesterdays"、セントルイスでの暴動、Live→Party→Liveの日々、Bob DylanのCoverで宗教的な美しさを持った"Knockin' on Heaven's Door"、Paul McCartney and WingsのCoverで"Live and Let Die"、Elton Johnを尊敬していたAxel、"The Spaghetti Incident?"で終わったキャリア、幻のAlbum"Chinese Democracy"など、バンドとして栄枯盛衰が描かれていた。
　1992年2月、"Use Your Illusion Tour"で来日した彼らを東京ドームで観ることができたのが懐かしい。ひさびさに2枚の「Use Your Illusion」が聴きたくなった。
